S3 Huahin Hotel

Lotus supermarket is across the road, with plenty of places to eat nearby, and there's free parking. The location is handy, near soi 51. The room was clean and the blackout curtains worked well, though you have to put out the “clean my room” sign or they won't service it. Twin rooms all seem to be on level 2. The walls are thin, so doors and people in the corridor can be heard. The staff felt cold and unwelcoming, and three of them didn't greet us. They also asked for 300 baht per key. It's a good budget hotel and seems popular with locals.

Good value, with a nice pool and fast WiFi. We checked out 30 minutes late and 200b was taken from my room deposit, which left a bit of a sour taste. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars.

The location is a long way from the city, and the hotel is noisy from both the front and the back. I couldn't find a quiet room. The soundproofing is so poor it feels like sleeping in a tent, and you can hear everything around you. The receptionist and the rest of the staff were unfriendly, never saying hello or greeting guests with a smile. A really bad hotel, completely not recommended. Avoid it.

A good deal for the price, with easy access, a clean room, and a comfortable bed with nice linens. The staff were friendly and very accommodating when our plans changed. Their English could be better, though.
