Seaside Hua Hin by OYO Rooms

I could give this zero stars if I could. SCAM ALERT, and the owners know what they're doing. I booked through Agoda for 204 baht, but when we arrived at reception they acted as if this wasn't ‘OYO Hotel’. They wouldn't listen to me or look at my translation, and charged us 600 baht to stay. We paid 800 in total. We could have left, but for convenience we were already there. The woman at the front desk was the rudest person I've dealt with during my time in Thailand. Don't recommend this place. Even if you're on a budget, avoid it, and if you're not, avoid it too. Please stay at ‘Angela Resort’ instead. It's the same price or cheaper, in a beautiful location, and the staff there were brilliant. We regretted leaving to stay here at seaside. Support local hotels, not this scam. The staff were rude and the rooms just okay, not nice. The hotel isn't on the beachfront or next to the beach. It's about a minute or two away, though I think it's sold as beachfront. I slept fine and it wasn't noisy, but be prepared to pay 600 baht more. You've also lost the 200 from Agoda. I'll keep trying to report this hotel.

Stay away from this place. I arrived to check in after paying my bill through Agoda, but the staff auntie wouldn't let us in. She said the owner had changed and they had nothing to do with Agoda. I spent three hours trying to contact Agoda, then gave up and rented the room at twice the price I'd booked online. This feels like a scam, and I think they keep using the same method to scam visitors. Agoda should ban the place and owner permanently. I don't understand why they're still allowed to keep doing this.

After nearly a month in this almost empty hotel, with ten days still left in our agreed stay, management suddenly called and demanded an outrageously high electricity bill. We refused, and they told us to either pay double the room rate for the rest of the stay or leave the next day. It felt like they were kicking us out at the last minute because a large group willing to pay more had arrived. There was no business ethics in this at all, and it's a disgrace for Thailand's hospitality sector. The staff also seemed overworked, working constantly around the clock, and underpaid. They came to borrow money from us, and it took quite a bit of persistence to get it back long overdue. Appalling customer service.

Looking it up on Google, we soon realized the hotel appears to take Agoda bookings, then say the booking was made with someone else so guests will rebook directly at double the price. Don't stay here or book here, they'll scam you.
