Felix River Kwai Resort

We were lucky to get a riverfront room with amazing views and beautiful scenery. The staff were helpful and respectful, and they serve traditional Thai tea and coffee. Breakfast costs extra, but it's totally worth it. The hotel is close enough to town while still giving you that feeling of being out in nature. Highly recommended.

The garden is what makes this older hotel worth going through. It has a pond with lotus flowers, and there was wildlife around. We had a room overlooking the river, which was very nice. The hotel is quite well maintained, though I think it's a bit expensive. For a short visit, staying one night is definitely worth the cost.

We were hoping for a cozy room to watch movies and play music on our Chromecast over Christmas, and my partner also wanted to watch some NBA games. The terrace was beautiful and private at first, but later the hotel put people right next to us even though other private terraces were empty. The property is huge, but the Wi-Fi advertised for the rooms wasn't available in ours. Staff tried for about 10 minutes, then told us to go to the lobby if we needed internet. Even the Netflix button on the smart TV didn't work. As a long-time resident of Thailand, we don't need to be out all the time, and we like making a home away from home. This place was okay for a few days, and you'll definitely need a motorbike, but it disappointed my partner and me for our Christmas holiday, which we wanted to spend with music and movies.

The grounds are nice and the location is decent, but the hotel could use an upgrade. I'd say a 4-star rating is a stretch. The pool is nice, though it could use a pool bar or at least a waiter taking drink orders. There were cobwebs in the room, too. The guy who sits by the main door all day could maybe open it for guests instead of just sitting there, though perhaps not every hotel in Thailand does that. I stayed for a few nights recently.
