Nita Raft House has been around for about 38 years as of 2025. It sits at one end of Pak Phraek Road, opposite the old paper mill, and is extremely quiet, with a spacious sitting area where smoking is allowed. The guest house is worn in places, and the owner planned to renovate some rooms that have been closed for years. The rooms are basic. A single fan room with a large bed and no furniture cost Baht230 in Dec 2025; for Baht 280, you get a bathroom in the room. There are raft bungalows and homestay-style rooms, with fan rooms and shared or private bathrooms. People describe the appeal as a “budget price, million-baht view.” It has a peaceful riverside setting, a cool breeze, and clear water. It’s close to the Pak Phraek walking street and Wat Ban Tai, and not far from the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Thai travelers looking for an affordable stay near heritage sites often choose it.

Our room had glass on two sides, which was amazing. It was basic, but had what we needed to be comfortable, and the value for money was great.

The owners are lovely, and they have some very nice cats and dogs. The rooms are very basic and could be cleaner; the mattresses are old and sag in the middle, and there’s no toilet paper or soap. It’s a cheap, cheerful stay with a nice view from the shared areas. Close to the bus station, floating restaurants, and the sky walk.

The couple who own the place were so sweet and kind to us, and we made great memories during our stay. The setting and view are idyllic, and it’s a great option for a backpacker on a budget. Ask to meet Chita, Shamshun and Brau!

I had a really enjoyable stay. The room was simple and only had a fan, no AC, but the fan worked super well and was enough. The views from the bedroom and outdoor seating area were beautiful. There are some really great, very cheap restaurants close by, plus the weekend night market. A nice, relaxed beach is about a 15-minute walk away.
