R2 Bed and Pool Kanchanaburi

The pool was a lovely place to unwind, with plenty of room, a small hot tub, and both sunny and shaded spots. Breakfast had a good range each morning, and the daily housekeeping was quick and done to a high standard. Our room was modern, beautifully decorated, spotless, and comfortable, with a great walk-in shower. We had a fantastic three-night stay at R2 Pool & Bar. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. When we worried we might miss the laundry shop’s 5:30pm collection deadline, the receptionist offered to pick up our clothes and pay for them until we could reimburse her. We made it back in time ourselves, but that offer meant a lot. The team also printed our onward bus tickets, saving us a trip to the station kiosk. We’d happily stay here again.

The mattresses seemed a little old, with a few soft spots, and my back hurt on the last night. Still, we had a great four-night stay. The staff were friendly, the service was good, and we could borrow bikes for the night market and other places nearby. The pool was lovely, and I liked the slightly salty water. The Thai restaurant two doors down is worth checking out, with good food, professional service, and staff who speak English. The hotel itself feels new, with fresh design and high-quality rooms. Ours had all the amenities, a huge comfortable bed, and we really enjoyed breakfast. I stayed in the pool until closing, though the closing time wasn’t strictly enforced. The hotel is on River Kwai road, around 1.5 km away, so it’s close but not really walking distance. I’d gladly recommend it and would most likely come back next time I’m in the area. 😊

The staff were very courteous, and I was given a VIP upgrade to a really large room. Breakfast was nice too.
