Tamarind Guest House

We stayed two nights in a raft and enjoyed the good view of the kwai river, plus a nice sunset each day. The bed wasn’t the softest we’ve had, but we managed. Later we moved to a regular room. The service was nice and the staff were good. There’s free coffee too 😁 I’ll likely come back and stay here again.

This is a large guesthouse with traditional rooms and a few rooms on a raft in the river. You can choose a fan or AC. I picked room #20 on the raft. It was spacious, clean, and had only a fan. The woven bamboo walls and wooden floor made it feel warm and inviting. There was no odor, and it was well maintained. The bed was a little hard, but it did the job, all for a nominal fee. They provided two towels, 2 x soap, 2 x water bottles, and 2 x water glasses. Upstairs, the common area has plenty of space and a great sunset view. There’s a water jug for refilling bottles, plus a canteen with hot water to make free Milo and instant coffee. A shared fridge is available for food and drinks. It was very quiet when I visited on a Friday night in October. The man running the place is always around and a nice guy!

We stayed a few weeks bk and had a great time. It’s off the main strip, so it was very peaceful, and all the staff were fantastic. The view from there is fantastic too.

Staying on the raft gives you beautiful views of and from the river, and I highly recommend it. The staff were welcoming, the place was clean, and the views were beautiful. A perfect place to stay.
