Seaside home

We really liked this quiet place, about a five-minute walk from the pier. It’s a family home with five small rooms opening onto a shared veranda. There are no stairs down to the fishing and tour boat harbor, but you can reach it from the back. Our room was small but clean, with a fan, good modern air conditioning, and strong Wi-Fi. The pillows were very large. Breakfast was a small spread in the shared front room, with coffee, water, toast, and an egg prepared by the owner.

The family house was the highlight of our four nights at Seaside Home. It had two bedrooms with double beds, a roomy terrace for relaxing, a fan, fridge, hot water, toaster, and two bathrooms. Before that, we stayed in a standard room, which was small but had what we needed and a sea view straight from the bed. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The host family were warm and always ready to help. They even called the hospital for us and lent us their motorbike to get there. Laundry was available too. In the common room, there was water, snacks, toast, and fruit for breakfast, and sometimes cake. The terrace over the ocean was such a lovely place to sit and watch the tide come and go. It’s surrounded by local life, with adorable cats and friendly dogs playing on the sand at low tide. Restaurants and cafés are just steps away. We miss it already and hope we can come back soon.

The people running this place are a lovely family, and that’s a big part of why I’d recommend it. I stayed a few nights. The rooms are small, modern, and clean, with a glass door that opens onto a little deck facing the sea. It’s a great spot, only about three minutes on foot from town, where there are a few bars and restaurants. They rent motorbikes for the ride to Charlie Beach, around 5-10 minutes away, and there’s good street food at the beach too.

The back doors open straight onto a balcony by the sea, which was lovely. Free water, coffee, and toast were available all day, and the host even offered to make us eggs and toast for breakfast. It’s a wonderful little home for a few nights. The staff were friendly, great, and happy to help whenever we needed anything. I’d definitely stay again if I’m in Koh Muk.
