May House Karon Beach

We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening and the owner surprised us with free cocktails. The rooms were roomy, clean, and replenished with water and supplies each day. The beach and main bar and restaurant strip are about a ten-minute walk, with plenty of places to eat closer by. Staff were really friendly. The only drawback was the traffic noise in our room facing the main road, so bring earplugs.

I had a lovely balcony view, and the room looked just like the photos. I didn't ask for daily cleaning, but they still brought water and toilet paper. The location worked really well for me, with restaurants next door, a coffee shop about ten steps from the entrance, and a 7 eleven nearby. Karon beach was a 15-minute walk away. A couple of good breakfast spots and two motorcycle rental places are only a two-minute walk away. We also liked that the hotel is about ten minutes from the beach, away from the noise of the beach clubs and crowds. The staff were so warm, and the food was tasty enough that we ate there most nights. Our room was cosy and roomy enough, with everything we needed and a balcony. It was beyond the tsunami evacuation point, which helped my girlfriend feel calm at night. We stayed at May House last December and would happily return. 10/10.

We were comfortable here and I’d recommend it, especially for the price. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and have balconies. They cleaned daily and changed the towels every day too. There’s a restaurant downstairs with very good food at reasonable prices. The only drawback is there’s no lift, so you have to carry luggage up the stairs.
