Peach Hill Resort

The rooms were a wow as soon as we walked in, very spacious, clean, with comfy beds and pillows. There's a nice balcony with a rack, and the breakfast buffet has plenty to choose from, though it's a bit of a walk to get there. The staff were really nice. We found it safer to just walk up and down the hill after wasting time waiting for the shuttle at Kata beach, since we hadn't been told clearly where to catch it. Communication isn't their strong point, so first-time visitors should ask for clear directions. The hill is definitely there, peaches or not. Body wash and shampoo come in one bottle, no soap. You can ask for extra tea bags, an iron or water. We bought milk at 7/11. Nights were a bit noisy, with very loud gusty wind. Once down on the streets, there are lots of restaurants and fruit stalls, and Kata beach is walkable. We felt quite safe walking at night.

The staff were very friendly and always seemed willing to help, even though some spoke very little English. They cleaned the standing water in the shower and sink several times, and helped us set a trap for the rat, but neither issue was resolved. We still couldn't move to another room. The bungalow was in very poor shape: the old AC was extremely noisy, a rat ran through the room at night, and there were dead worms behind the bed. There was also a strong sewage smell inside, apparently from animal droppings, and the interior door needed to be slammed to shut. Breakfast had plenty available except no zero-calorie sweetener or drinks other than black coffee, no cappuccino. The area was loud but had everything nearby and was close to the beaches. I won't return. I didn't get a room change or refund despite the bad condition, and I didn't feel comfortable there, though I've loved traveling in Thailand several times.

Finding unidentified pills on the bedroom floor was the point when we couldn't stay. We had a crawling 10-month-old with us, so medication left within reach felt like a potentially life-threatening housekeeping failure. Before that, the room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. We asked housekeeping to come back, but the work still felt rushed and incomplete, and we had to ask again for the floors to be mopped. A room change was offered later that evening, but it was bedtime, the kids were exhausted, and our trust was already gone. We left to find somewhere else because we didn't feel the children were safe. The location may be convenient, but cleanliness and safety are basics. Based on what happened, we'd advise families with young children to think twice.

The three pools never felt crowded, even with the hotel full, and the steep road up isn't an issue if you're healthy. We had a lovely two weeks at Peach Hill with our little baby. Everyone was so friendly, especially the breakfast team, who took great care of us. Big thanks to attendent Si Tha for the great work! The room AC could get freezing cold, though getting it set comfortably to 26 degrees was a little harder. We're leaving today and feel a bit sad, we really had a good time.
