A pleasant stay and good value if you don't have any special requirements. The restaurant next door serves excellent food, and the rooms are cleaned spotlessly every day. Mario, who is from northern Sardinia, goes out of his way to make guests comfortable. Recommended.

Pomodoro Restaurant is right next to the residence, where Mario, the Italian owner, serves excellent Italian dishes and delicious pizza. His wife, Shandy, personally puts together the Thai menu, and Mario is happy to suggest island trips and nearby beaches. There’s plenty of parking inside for scooters and cars. We had a wonderful two weeks in Kata. Rice Room is just outside the center, in a quieter spot that’s still handy for the beach. The rooms are simple, clean, and well equipped, with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fridge, and a comfortable, spacious bathroom. Laundry service is available too. I’d happily return.

A handy base for exploring the island on a scooter, and Kata Beach isn’t too far away. The place is very well kept and spotlessly clean, with attentive, friendly staff. The restaurant is popular and the food is excellent, especially the pizza, which tastes just like it does in Italy. They also serve espresso.
