The Baray Villa

I found the hotel’s style a little overstimulating at first, but it grew on me, and the greenery and attention to detail were lovely. My room was spacious and comfortable, with pool access that was great even just for a stroll along the canals. It’s very central for Kata beach while still being quiet inside. I visited in low season, so the many rooms didn’t feel very full. Breakfast had enough choice, with lots of Asian dishes as well as Western options. I’d suggest going right when it opens for a quieter meal. The staff were attentive, as you’d expect in Thailand. We had a lovely stay.

We had a magical stay and would absolutely come back. The pool was stunning, and since we had a pool access room we ended up spending lots of time in it. Our room was cleaned meticulously, and the security staff at the front always made us feel safe and welcome. Other guests we met seemed happy too. The whole property is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful details and wonderful scents all around. The staff were just as lovely, genuinely helpful, and always smiling despite the intense heat. Nothing felt like too much trouble. If you’re thinking of booking, go for it. ❤️

We spent two nights at Sawasdee Village in Phuket, and it felt magical. The Cabana Suite was absolutely worth booking, especially because we could step straight from our room into the pool. The resort is beautiful in daylight, then somehow even more breathtaking at night, with fluorescent lighting and gorgeous decor throughout. From the entrance to the little details inside, it feels like a hidden paradise. Hospitality was exceptional, and the free beach shuttle made getting around easy and comfortable. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Phuket. 🌴✨

The AC was the one thing that kept this from being a five-star stay. The coldest setting in our room was 25 degrees Celsius, which felt too warm for the heat, and I would have really liked stronger AC or even a fan. Everything else was lovely: the resort is stunning, with beautiful craftsmanship, details, and a wonderful smell. The buffet breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so kind. Our beds were super comfy, and the room had plenty of water and amenities. We had a pool access suite and loved being able to walk out for a dip. There are lots of massage places, shops, and restaurants nearby, and the walking street market was close enough to grab a bite and come back to relax. They also have a lovely guest area with snacks and coffee, and the gym was amazing.
