Sanfhan Resort

We ended up staying longer than planned because of the bad weather, and were glad to have such a lovely place to spend the time. The rooms are comfortable, set above the rice paddies, and the location is peaceful and beautiful. The hot pools are nearby and well worth visiting. We went in the rain and had them to ourselves. There are good restaurants about a kilometer away, and the village has a great coffee shop, arch craft cafe, plus everything else you might need. We loved our stay here.

My wife has mysophobia and was very pleased with how clean everything was. The bed and sheets were comfortable, and my mother and daughter both slept really well. The staff were warm and friendly, and it seems well suited to families. I recommend it completely. I would have stayed longer if our next plans allowed it, and I'd come back. Also, there are lots of monkeys in the nearby mountains, so there's no need to visit a zoo.

The hot springs and caves are an easy walk from the resort, which sits in a quiet spot beside a coconut plantation with a great mountain view. Khao Chatdon railway station is a few minutes away by car or about a 20-minute walk. There is no restaurant on site, though several good restaurants are close by, and parking is excellent. The owners care a lot about keeping the place in top condition. Their family has lived in the area for generations, so they know the attractions and are happy to share tips on places to visit. Sanfhan Resort is a modern, new, very clean place, and its units are arranged for privacy. Each has a large double bed, while some have two beds, plus crisp white duvets and a separate bathroom with a shower and hot water. The beds are comfortable, and the price is very reasonable for the standard. There are lots of places like this in Thailand, with a wide range of prices and quality. This one was a really nice place to stay.

Having a car would be useful here. The village is lovely, with a really positive, peaceful feel. Our room was small and basic, but spotless and had a very nice view. The staff were amazing and incredibly helpful.
