Khao Kho Sky Winds

We had great weather and a beautiful view, with mountains and trees all around. You can run through the pine cone fields, and there's a rooftop for looking out over the higher views. It was quiet and romantic, and the atmosphere felt warm and festive, while still being lavishly appointed. The room was very big, clean, and warm. The owners were so friendly with us and the kids, and very caring and gentle. Breakfast was fresh and yummy. I almost felt like I was in New Zealand.

Lee and his wife Phoch made us feel very welcome. They're kind and thoughtful hosts, and the rooms and shared spaces have lovely, quirky decor that makes the place feel homely. Breakfast was delicious, among the best food we've had in Thailand, and it was clear they put care into looking after us. The hotel sits in quiet, lush surroundings with flowers and forests all around. In the cooler weather, we could take long walks on safe, easy forest trails and explore the Thai countryside, with beautiful views in every direction. We fell in love with Sky Winds and will definitely return. It's a lovely spot for a few couples or a family to spend a memorable break. Thank you, Lee and Phoch, for taking such good care of us.

Leroy and Phoch were incredibly hospitable. When we arrived in heavy rain, Lee came out with an umbrella, carried our bags, welcomed us with a glass of wine from his impressive selection, and upgraded us from a smaller suite to a family room. The room was spacious, clean, stylish, and had a lovely view. It was equipped with all sorts of things, from a kettle and iron to a new toothbrush and toothpaste in case you'd forgotten yours. Their chef was away, so Phoch handled all the cooking herself, including lovely home cooked breakfasts that set us up for hiking and exploring. They shared lots of good local suggestions, including an elephant sanctuary cafe. In the evenings, we could relax in the restaurant as a social space and enjoy more of Leroy’s wine. It was early in the season, so the hotel was quiet, and we were the only guests on a couple of nights, but I think you'd get the same level of service any time of year. There's a nice rooftop space where we managed to fit in a couple of workouts, too. I had an amazing stay and will definitely come back when I'm in Khao Kho. It's hard to imagine finding better service during the rest of our trip in Asia. Highly recommend it if you're visiting.
