Kirirath Resort

The view is lovely, and I liked the idea of the domes, but the details weren't thought through. There was nowhere beside the outdoor shower to put soap or a toothbrush, the tub wouldn't hold water, and the indoor shower had too little water pressure. The furniture looked worn, with stains that only showed in daylight. We had asked for the room to be tidied while we were out, but no one came. The so-called vegan breakfast was salad with sugary mayonnaise. I'd stay for the view, but not for the service or room quality.

The grounds are quiet and green, and the bed was comfortable, but the price felt far too high for the quality. We booked standard rooms and felt they should cost no more than $25, rather than $45. The restaurant was about twice as expensive as it should be, with pad Thai at 200B and Tom yam at 280. They even charged us for ice for water that we hadn't asked for.

The service was very good, and the resort is close enough to Tanarat Road that you can still get to Khao Yai's lively area. The room was quite old, though, and I could hear the family upstairs walking and running around. Breakfast was average. It's fine if you're not expecting the quality of a 3-star-plus hotel.

A peaceful, clean place with a warm welcome and very nice staff. Getting there was difficult, though, because Google Maps sent us to the wrong location.
