Nakamanda Resort And Spa

We spent six days at Nakamanda Resort & Spa and had a wonderful time. The surroundings are beautiful, and the pool area feels calm and inviting, with a wide, stunning sea view. The resort is laid out for privacy and peace between guests, and the rooms are elegant, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff are welcoming, very friendly, and helpful. Whatever we asked for, they assisted us kindly and professionally. The breakfast buffet also deserves a mention: it has something for every taste, wherever you’re from, and seems to have everything you could want. We found the resort very well run, had nothing to complain about, and would gladly recommend it and return.

I really liked the setting and the size of the hotel during my several-night stay. It isn’t too large or crowded, the property is nicely designed, and the beach is beautiful. The rooms are a little dated. There was one serious concern: on my morning walks, I saw sewage flowing straight into the small bay where the hotel is. The smell was overwhelming, and it put me off swimming in the sea there. I hope the hotel gives the environment and nature as much care as it gives its guests. I’d love to return if this gets addressed.

The beach was the letdown for me. Swimming worked in the morning at high tide, but by afternoon low tide left too many rocks exposed. We found a nearly rock-free patch on the left, in front of abandoned Krabi hotel. If you want turquoise water for swimming, this might not be the place. The resort itself is lovely, with a jungle feel and even a sign at the door warning about monkeys. Service was great, the rooms were well equipped though a little dated, and the beds and pool were comfortable. Breakfast was generous and tasty, especially being able to make fresh juice yourself. The restaurant on site was expensive and the food only so-so, though there are plenty of good places around the corner. As other reviewers have said, there was a sewage smell near the pool, so I wouldn't choose a villa closer to the beach.

The team made us feel looked after throughout our stay. They were attentive and helpful, and that care really stood out. The grounds were immaculate and the property felt peaceful from the moment we arrived. We left feeling relaxed, so it seems especially suited to a couples' retreat.
