I stayed for about 8 days earlier this year and really enjoyed the board game and hostel mix. The place is super clean, with all the amenities you need, and the new bed and bedding were comfy. I slept well every night. The host family was lovely and even treated me to dinner. I enjoyed chatting with them about travel and cultural differences.

Kong was one of the kindest hosts I’ve met. He’s an ex buddist monk and a born again gamer, and he shared useful information and interesting conversation, made fresh ground coffee whenever I wanted, lent me his mountain bike, and drove me to the old train station because he wanted to. It’s a homestay, so you get to meet and chat with him and possibly his friends and family, which made for a much more authentic experience of Thailand and its people. The room is private, not a dorm, and has two large beds, a desk, fan, A/C, and a shared bathroom. It’s cheap, and just a short walk from the new train station, which was due to open before the end of March. Thank you very much, sir.

The owner was really helpful and showed us how to play the games we picked. There’s a huge selection, making this the best board game cafe and store in Khon Kaen. We’ll definitely be back.
