Galato Coffee & Hostel

For less than 400 baht a night, I think it's a great deal and would definitely return. The hotel is around 30 years old, but it's been kept in good shape and still looks quite nice for its age, which surprised me. My room was very clean and had couches and tables. The bed was okay, and the AC worked well without changing the temperature, though it could get too cool if you adjust it. Warm shower and tap water are nice in the cool winter. My only issue was having just one power outlet for charging, with no other outlets available.

I stayed a few nights, then switched hotels because the air conditioner was making more noise than I liked. Still, I can see this place has potential if the maintenance improves.

I paid less than the rates on Agoda or Booking, so it felt well worth the price. I'd recommend it, and wouldn't let the low Google scores put me off.

The location worked well for the Mindfulness Project, with the old bus station only a five-minute walk away. The hotel itself feels past its best, though. Wi-Fi was almost unusable, and after asking twice to change rooms or floors, I gave up. Some rooms look worn and need renovating. It was clean and comfortable enough for the money.
