Grand Leo Hotel

The bed was comfortable and it stayed quiet at night. I paid 550 baht, and the location was great, about 100m from KFC, Tops supermarket, bars, and 711. There’s parking for around 6 cars. I paid extra for a renovated room, but it hardly looked renovated: the paint was peeling, the walls were dirty, and the only plugs were for the TV and fridge. I had nowhere to charge my phone without unplugging one of them. It was OK, but not for me.

I won’t be coming back. My room was very old and unclean, the bed wasn’t clean either, and there was an unpleasant smell. Please renovate the hotel and take better care of the room and bed cleanliness.

I looked the place over for a mate but didn’t stay. The rooms seemed clean, and the cleaners looked busy. They seemed reasonable for what you pay, and the location and price are great. There was some odd bar or restaurant setup downstairs, though I’m not sure what it was about. If it’s no good, there’s plenty going on just outside. It had a bit of that odd Southeast Asia feel, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’d consider it if I weren’t with my young kids, but with them I’d have to pass. That’s just me.

The best thing is being about 100m from the Shrine monument. I paid 380 baht for one night, which was good for the price. The hotel is old and completely out of date, though, and my room was a bit dirty with spiderwebs in several places. There’s no soundproofing. We could hear everything from the next room, including a morning alarm, and street noise carried through at night from the bars and restaurants nearby. The corridor had no lights. There is an elevator, which is needed. The lobby looked abandoned, like the hotel was lost in doom. Mini Leo level, in summary.
