Mammoth Resort

The location is central, but the rooms feel dated, all that 70s brown. For this room quality, the price seems a little high, especially with the included breakfast being a bit of a joke, just bread, noodles, or rice soup. There are plenty of hotels right next door for half the price.

The staff first gave me a king room, as that was what my rushed booking showed, even though I had meant to reserve twin beds. I know that booking mistake was mine. When I asked about changing it, they said I’d have to pay extra, although the king room I’d booked actually cost more than the twin. They eventually moved me to a twin room in the older part of the building. That room was badly dated, with a broken bathroom lock, an unpleasant smell, and curtains hanging loose. The back of it seemed to be beside the housekeeping area. I could hear the male and female housekeeping staff talking loudly while I showered in the morning, which really affected my privacy. The room situation from the start was unacceptable, and I was disappointed by the staff's conduct, which didn't feel honest. Breakfast was basic.

A decent place for a stop in the city. The rooms were clean, the bed was firm, and breakfast was okay.

We were shocked to get back from sightseeing in the evening and find our door standing wide open, with all our belongings gone. Reception told us staff had moved everything to another room because of the bathroom leak we'd reported that morning. We hadn't packed our clothes or been told this was happening, and it left us uneasy that someone had handled our personal things. Thankfully, after checking, nothing was missing. Before that, things had gone smoothly. We booked through Agoda, liked the friendly front desk staff, stayed one night, and had breakfast before heading out. We'd mentioned a puddle behind the toilet to housekeeping as we left. Offering a room change because of a leak was reasonable, but going into our room and moving our things without telling us first was unacceptable. It wasn't an emergency. I assume they meant well, but seeing the door open was a huge shock.
