The temple across the road is a special treat, with lots of pictures and sculptures. There are also plenty of museum pieces to look at, plus a great shared kitchen for guests. It’s a wonderful hostel for a group, though you’ll need your own transport. Furnishings are sparse, and there’s a very nice bathroom off the deck. A walking street runs beside the lake.
I had to change my plans and couldn’t stay as long as expected, but the host was understanding and helpful. Thanks! I’d recommend the place to locals and travelers. Pets are allowed, though the setting may not be all that pet friendly. The owners and housekeeper are very friendly and helpful. The place is clean, has enough parking for the number of rooms, and the garden is nice. I liked that the shower room door opens onto the balcony instead of being inside the room.
We kept coming back to Nonthun 1 Hostel and really fell for the place, the lovely woman working there, and Khon Kaen in general. It has a piece of my heart. The beds are super comfortable, it’s clean, and the location is awesome. Thank you.

This was my third stay, and the atmosphere is still just as good. The housekeepers give excellent service, and the room is clean as always. I wasn’t disappointed at all, even with my dog along.
