Kuraburi Resort

I don’t understand the poor rating. The villas could use some renovation, but the place is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, especially for somewhere near a busy road. Good value for money overall.

We booked two nights but left after one, finding somewhere more comfortable. The business is very run down: the rooms are a mess, and the air con barely worked and was so noisy that we turned it off. The bungalow shifted on its supports when we moved around, and felt as though it could collapse at any moment. Broken window screens let in lots of mosquitoes overnight. Breakfast was included but very basic and not worth eating. They brought it when they wanted, not when we asked. There was also karaoke on site, with loud, bad singing from drunk locals going on until all hours. I can’t recommend this place to anybody.

For a night’s sleep while passing through, this place is perfect: clean, safe and affordable, with cold aircon, hot water, clean sheets, a refrigerator, TV, friendly staff and car or motorbike parking. There’s a well-lit sign out front. Shampoo is purple, soap is yellow ;). I’d stay here to support a local Thai family rather than choose another resort in the area if all I needed was a place to sleep. Cheers.

The river location is nice, set far enough from the highway, and the owner is very friendly. The price is very reasonable, though the older resort needs considerable maintenance or upgrades, and the furnishings are well worn. During my October 2022 visit, the government was building a retaining wall along the resort’s riverfront. I can’t say whether it’ll be a plus or a minus when it’s finished, but the work was noisy and ugly while I was there.
