Baansuan Aokhai Beach Rayong

We found a roomy place for our family of four after booking at the last minute on New Year’s Eve. The beach nearby is a lovely little stretch with soft sand, and there’s a restaurant and small minimart right out front for easy meals and snacks. Having your own car would suit the location best. If you want a quiet beach and straightforward, spacious rooms in the Rayong area, this is a good option.

The staff were polite and did their best, and the quiet setting away from crowds felt local. The room, though, looked much better online than it did in person. Its equipment was old and rusty, and a bad smell came from the bathroom pipe. Breakfast was disappointing too, whether choosing the set or buffet, with very few options. For 5 nights from Aug 13-18, I paid $510, which felt overpriced during monsoon season. I hope the hotel updates the rooms and facilities to improve the place and its business.

The room lighting was awful, either glaringly bright like a pharmacy or completely off, and the stay felt like poor value. Things were run down too: bathroom hooks fell off and were never fixed, the sink faucet broke off, and shower water ran onto the bathroom floor.

Good value, tasty food, and helpful service. It’s a very nice place right by the beach, and I’d definitely recommend it.
