Apple Beachfront Resort

I was worried after reading some reviews, but things turned out well. The room and facilities looked freshly renovated, at least the paint did. The pool was good, the beach was right in front, and it wasn't noisy. The bathroom was a little small, and it had no windows. One thing I'd suggest is asking guests not to smoke weed around the pool. The smell was too strong, and there are children at the hotel.

The only thing that worked for me here was the location. There were stains almost everywhere, and staff seemed more focused on folding towels neatly than actually cleaning surfaces. I'd much rather have a clean towel. Even with my low standards, this place was too much. It really felt like the owners didn't care about the business. If I could choose again, I'd book somewhere cheaper and much better without beach access, then buy a daily 80 baht smoothie from one of the beach restaurants. I'd save money, get a drink, and have a reasonable place to sleep. Unless you absolutely have to stay here, choose somewhere else. I regret this choice. Luckily, I'm only here for two days.

The location was the only good thing for us. We visit Koh Chang often and had high hopes based on the comments and location, but the room we booked as a luxury balcony room was on the ground floor, smelled really bad, and didn't feel luxurious. We paid 1000 baht more per night to move to a beachfront room. It smelled better and was a better room, but the whole place needs upgrades and maintenance. The service was bad too. The bathroom shelf is mounted right where you can hit your head. We drove here, and parking was difficult: the space is very small, with so many motorcycles that you can't get out without moving them, which you may have to do yourself. We won't return here, though we'll be back on the island in a few months.

The room service was the worst I've had on almost any hotel trip. The air conditioner wouldn't cool even with the right setting, and water dripped when it was on. The towels were very dirty, almost yellow. Water and soap weren't replenished, and the shower water was dirty too.
