Dusila Hotel Kohchang

The view from my 7th floor room was awesome, and the place was super clean. There’s no lift, so ask for a lower floor if stairs are a problem. I loved the breakfast, and it felt like great value. I’ll be back.

Our stay was a big disappointment. The rooms were large, but old, dirty, and poorly maintained. The hotel seemed understaffed, with just one receptionist, so there was often nobody available to help. The rented bike was old and badly serviced, and they charged more than the price in their own brochure. We found much better and cheaper bikes nearby. Laundry was another problem: bleach ruined some of our clothes. The pool wasn’t cleaned at all, and nobody used it during our five-day stay. This was the worst hotel experience of our vacation in Trat islands.

The price is right, but the pool pumps and filters make such a loud, high-pitched noise that it’s hard to enjoy the peace.

I had a really enjoyable stay at this affordable little hotel right by White Sands Beach. The rooms are a good size and comfortable, with a balcony, a good shower, and a TV that has Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. There’s also a pretty outdoor pool. The girl at reception can arrange motorbikes or taxis. I didn’t rent a motorbike because everything I needed was close enough to walk to: 7/11s, souvenir shops, massage parlors, travel agents, bars, and restaurants. The public path to the beach is about a five-minute walk down the road, and the beach itself has more bars and restaurants. I did book two taxis through reception, one for a return trip to Klong Plu waterfall and one to Pattaya when I was leaving. Her prices were very cheap, much lower than trying to get a taxi from the road.
