OYO 853 The Grand Koh Chang Hotel

The side-facing rooms sit only a few meters from neighboring houses. We had a top-floor room facing the street, though, and it came with a nice sea view. The hotel had just opened, so everything was brand new.

A nice place to stay, including for Khmer guests who don't speak Thai or English. One of the staff members is from Cambodia.

The sea is only about 50 meters away, across the road, and there's a fourth-floor lookout with a lovely view of the island and water. We also really liked the breakfast buffet, especially the soup, which changed each day. Both the kids and adults enjoyed it. Downstairs there are two bars with live music; we sat in the one for information and liked it better. The hotel itself is decent and has what you need for a good night's sleep. Cleaning follows the sign on the door handle. We put our sheets out every other day and they were changed, even though we left a 35 baht tip that wasn't needed.

My family spent a few days here and found it cozy. They liked the location, and thought the price was reasonable.
