SP Place Hotel

The room was clean, the owners were very friendly, and the price was reasonable. I stayed a few nights and would happily come back.

After the long drive from Bangkok, Koh Chang felt like just the quieter break I wanted from the city. We arrived late with a group of five, and my friend had only booked two rooms. I was short on Baht and couldn’t afford a third, so Firn, the Hotel Manager, let Ma and his wife use another room at no extra cost. That was a huge relief, and I finally had a room of my own to rest in. I hadn’t known much about where we were, beyond taking the ferry over from mainland Thailand. Google Translate helped me get by, but Firn spoke and understood English, which mattered a lot since I don’t speak Thai. The next day I explained that I was low on money and still had a long vacation ahead. She worked out a deal for me to stay at SP Place for the rest of my trip, until I head back to the USA on December 14, and said she’d arrange a way back to Bangkok and home. November isn’t a busy month on Koh Chang, so her help felt priceless. SP Place is small and convenient, right in the middle of the island, and I’m now much more excited about the trip.

Had an amazing 10 days at SP hotel. The staff were lovely, the bedrooms were clean and nice, and the boss is super kind. They were always there to help with advice, sort out a scooter rental, or find a taxi. Special mention to tata.

The location was great, just a minute from a beautiful beach, and breakfast was included and good. The price was good too. But our room had ants, mold in the bathroom, and a closet that left all my clothes smelling bad. It wasn’t cleaned during our stay unless we asked. Too dirty and run down for me, so I wouldn’t stay again.
