Sylvan Koh Chang Resort

The staff were so kind and helpful that we’d definitely return. We stayed in a lovely family apartment in a stunning, scenic spot with amazing views. Breakfast was delicious and varied every day, with plenty for us and the kids. There’s lots to do, including pools, a gym, the beach, and kayaks. We even had monkeys or toucans nearby while we ate breakfast. Guests can also enjoy beach cinema nights, fire shows, dancing, and live music.

The restaurant was good, if a little expensive, and the ingredients were excellent. The resort is quite far from the pier, shops, and activities. There’s a free shuttle to a few beaches, but it only goes one way. The spa is a must. It’s on the pricey side, but luxurious, very relaxing, and worth every baht. The sauna and cold pool are included with pretty much every treatment, which is a great touch. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained, and most have a bath. Staff are attentive, helpful, professional, and speak surprisingly good English, as well as some other major languages. Signs are in Tai and En, so getting around is easy. The resort is peaceful and quiet. The pools are clean and well cared for, and the beach is sandy and shallow. There are plenty of sunbeds, plus activities like kayaking and volleyball. Breakfast is an excellent buffet, plentiful and delicious, with a view that speaks for itself. It’s excellent value overall.

We always have a wonderful time here. The rooms are comfortable, the service is warm and attentive, and the food is delicious and high quality. This visit, we also caught a brief glimpse of a hornbill. It was a memorable little moment that made the stay even more special.

The resort sits between rainforest and sea, with incredible views across Kai Bae Beach and the surrounding islands. Its private beach is quiet and clean, great for relaxing, swimming, kayaking, or snorkeling. The infinity pools looking out over the ocean are beautiful, especially at sunset. Getting around the property is easy and fun on the funicular tram between the hillside rooms and the beachfront. The amenities are excellent too, including a gym, game room, kids’ club, and Rainforest Spa, where you can have Thai massages and other wellness treatments among tropical gardens. Kai Bae village is close by, with restaurants, shops, and bars, and the hotel provides a shuttle. You can also use the resort as a base for Koh Chang’s waterfalls, jungle trails, viewpoints, and nearby islands with good snorkeling and diving. It’s a lovely mix of comfort, nature, and things to do. I’d definitely come back.
