Baan Thai Lanta Resort

We spent five nights here, and it was the best hotel of our holiday, even compared with the five-star places we stayed at. The grounds and gardens are kept incredibly immaculate. Staff were friendly, the food was good, and hotel prices were good too. Laundry was inexpensive, and the location is right on the beach. Highly recommend.

The one serious issue was getting in touch during the low season. I booked months ahead and needed to change my reservation, but it was extremely hard to reach the hotel. Replies could take days, and they didn’t seem to answer emails then. Keep that in mind. I’d have given four stars for this, though it doesn’t feel fair after how much I enjoyed the stay. The owners should pay attention to reservations throughout the year. Once we arrived, the hotel exceeded my expectations. It’s a beautiful, classy gem, with charming gardens and care put into every detail. It’s small, so there are plenty of quiet corners, and lounge chairs and amenities were always available. Our room was immaculate, with high-quality bedding and furniture, and the air conditioning and fridge worked well. I also want to mention Natasha, at least that was the name on her badge, and I hope we read it right. She was professional, discreet, helpful, and charming, and clearly great at her job.

It’s a little far from everything, but still a perfect hotel. The garden is stunning, and I loved walking around in the peaceful mornings. Reception was very kind, and the people were amazing.

We had a top stay at Baan Thai, with great value for money. The resort felt full, yet never crowded, and everything was spotless and carefully maintained. Service was especially attentive, caring, kind, and friendly. The setting is ideal, at the quieter southern end of Klong Khong beach, which feels almost private. Restaurants, a 7/11, the main road, and other essentials are still just a 5-10-minute walk away. The pool area has a large sitting space with sunbeds, hammocks, and beanbags facing the beach, perfect for watching the sunset. Breakfast was excellent, with dishes made to order as well as a small buffet. We were upgraded for two nights to the deluxe beachfront villa, and breakfast was included for all four nights. That villa was spacious, comfortable, tastefully designed, and had a lovely balcony. Our originally booked sea-view villa was a little smaller and felt somewhat older, but it was still spacious and comfortable, with a large deck facing the lawn and sea. It sits beside the pool and restaurant, though it’s separate from them, so felt a bit less private. I preferred the first room, while my partner preferred the second. Both were great. The resort itself is absolutely stunning, with colorful decor, plants and trees throughout, and a gorgeous direct sea view. I’d highly recommend it and hope to return.
