Lanta Mermaid Beachfront Resort

Waking up to the beautiful sea view from our room was a real pleasure each morning. The reception team were especially friendly and helpful, even arranging a bike rental that made exploring the area easier and more fun. The room was quite dark, with limited lighting, and there's no elevator, which could be inconvenient with heavy luggage or mobility issues. We truly enjoyed our stay and the warm, attentive service, and would consider coming back.

The bed was OK, and the TV had Netflix and YouTube, though you need your own account. The shower water was lukewarm at best, but the pressure was decent. There was no pickup at the ferry terminal, despite several websites listing it as a benefit. No elevator, no welcome drink, and no receptionist after 7 pm. There may be a restaurant, but it looked like it had been closed for months. On foot, it's far from everything, and there's no decent morning coffee unless you ride a motorbike to get some. For the quality, the price seemed relatively high, and the only boutique thing about the place was its small size.

The rooms were spacious, and the elephants in them were a nice touch, but they smelled mouldy in the high heat. The location wasn't the best for getting around. We were always walking or taking tuk-tuks. It's close to the beach, but you definitely need to rent a moped. A little pricey for what you get!

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the place is well looked after with friendly, competent staff. It's right next to a road, so you can hear the traffic. If that would disturb your sleep, bring earplugs or choose somewhere else. Thank you.
