Lanta Nice Beach House

I’d return just to see the staff again. Juanita, reception and housekeeping, thank you for making my stay so lovely. The rooms were exceptional and great value.

I wouldn’t choose this place for an easy, pleasant holiday. The rooms felt very outdated, dirty and poorly stocked, with mould on the wall. Sleep was difficult because of noise from neighbouring rooms, nearby construction, traffic on the road out front and mosque prayers. The hotel stairs were tiny, steep and slippery, and reception was often unattended. Calls went unanswered. The staff we did find seemed poorly trained and struggled with basic communication. There was no food, drinks or breakfast service on site. The worst part was the motorbike they rented us. It suddenly broke down on a hill with loud noises and lots of smoke, and we were lucky not to get hurt. We couldn’t reach the staff or owner of Lanta Nice Beach House by phone, so we had to take a taxi back to sort it out. At first, they didn’t even apologize for failing to check and maintain the bike properly.

We booked online because the price looked reasonable for what was offered, but the rooms turned out to be much more spacious than we expected, with a beautiful view. The staff were really friendly, and they make the best KFC-style chicken on the island, maybe in all of Thailand. They also provide free transport to their sister hotel beach resort.

The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the location worked well for us, between town to the north, the beach and hiking in the south. Their sister Beach resort is only a short walk away, though they also offer free transport there. You can rent motorbikes too, so getting around the island is very affordable.
