The food and service were a real bright spot: lunch and dinner at the restaurant were tasty, and the staff were warm, polite, and kind. The beachside coffee spot also makes proper espresso and has ice cream, and the location right on the beach is hard to beat. The resort itself feels old and badly in need of renovation. Our room was very basic, with a tiny bathroom and no shower curtain, so water went everywhere. There was just one towel per person, and the bed was so hard it felt like concrete. We barely slept. Breakfast had much less choice than at other three-star Thai hotels, and there are too few sunbeds unless you get out early. Beach towels aren't available until 10 a.m., which is a problem if you're leaving early for an excursion unless you bring your own. The staff were lovely, but if comfort matters to you, I'd choose another hotel.

There's a very good coffee bar on site, and the rooms are spacious and nice, though the bathroom is basic. Sayang Beach Resort feels like a good choice if you want somewhere more authentic, but I wouldn't pick it for a long stay because breakfast is very simple and there's little to choose from. The resort is right on the beach. The downside is the shortage of beach chairs, which early-rising guests reserve for themselves. If I owned the place, I'd put a stop to that so everyone had a chance to use them.

We stayed 12 nights in a Superior Bungalow and really didn't want to leave. The bungalows were comfortable and cleaned spotless every day, and the staff were incredibly helpful, efficient, and friendly. Being right on Long Beach with direct access to its lovely sandy shore was a big part of the appeal. It was also very quiet after 22:00, so we could properly rest and recharge. Some reviews mention the lack of sunbeds. We felt that on a few busy days when the hotel was full, though on quieter days we could easily get two. There are bean bags too, great for a proper tanning session. We also enjoyed drinks from the coffee shop, massages, drinks at the bar, and excellent food in the hotel restaurant. 10000% recommend.

Being right on the beach is the hotel's main plus. The staff did try to help with everything, but the stay still fell short of what I expected. There are nowhere near enough sun chairs, so relaxing on the beach is difficult unless you get there very early. Breakfast was below average for both quality and choice. The property feels run-down and poorly cared for, with signs of neglect across the facilities. At night, animals got into the room area. Rather than properly fixing it, staff sprayed something into the holes from outside.

We'd definitely come back. The resort has a relaxed, no-frills feel, with lovely beach life. Its restaurant and bar are great, and you can find plenty more places to eat or drink just a few steps along the beach in either direction. You can book a scooter or trips right at reception.
