Sand Terrace Beach Bungalows

The quiet atmosphere and sea views made this small resort a real pleasure, and I've already booked another stay. Shops, restaurants and a taxi are just up the road. The staff were friendly and helpful, even arranging a taxi when I was stranded on the other side of the island. Rooms are cleaned every day and come with fresh towels and two bottles of water daily. I loved it and absolutely recommend it if you're after some quiet time.

We had a memorable time at the Terrace, and we're sure to return next time we're in Koh Phangan. This was just what we wanted from the island. The beachfront setting was great, while still being away from the commotion. Restaurants and a food court were close by, and the bike service took us everywhere else. The rooms were fabulous, with a lovely, calming white and blue design. Room service and cleaning were immaculate, and we really enjoyed the stay. Netflix was a fun surprise for late night shows after a long evening, and made the room feel welcoming. The front desk team were lovely and helpful, especially Pai, who made us feel welcome. Our bungalow had everything we needed for a week, and the ocean was right outside. Pai was lovely to have around too, with good advice on places to eat and beaches to visit. You’re also within walking distance of several 711s and the night market, which has loads of food choices. Such a great spot.

The best thing about this beach house is the beautiful spot right by the sea. The beach itself, though, was left with seaweed and other debris at low tide. It would take about half an hour a day to clean it up. Inside, the place felt shabby and poorly equipped for what it cost. The terrace is huge, with two hammocks, two older plastic-covered Fatboys, four dirty yellow chairs leaning against a wall, and a bar with four stools. The kitchen has only the basics and no capsule coffee machine. There’s an okay TV room downstairs with IKEA furniture, but we didn’t come to watch Netflix instead of looking at the sea. The unlit wooden stairs to the bedroom felt pretty rough at night. The bed was quite hard, and the bathroom was a mess: small, no shower tray, a dirty toilet brush, and a mirror my husband had to bend down to use while shaving. There’s no full-length mirror either. We stayed four nights, and this was the shabbiest and most expensive place we’ve had in Thailand so far. We paid less for a lovely pool villa on Koh Samui, and now we have a beach villa on the same island for less too. The owner didn’t seem to be there in person or in the country. The receptionist was very friendly and tried hard, but that couldn’t make up for the problems. I really can’t recommend it at such an exorbitant price. If you’re set on Sandterrace, the bungalows seem cheaper, or look for somewhere nicer.
