Phi Phi Hill Bamboo Bungalow

The bungalow was small and simple, but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and ready to help. It’s quite far from the port, and the island’s streets are so narrow that you have to walk there, so think carefully if you have big bags. There was no hot water in the bathroom, and the hotel didn’t provide bath gel or a toothbrush.

My first time staying in bamboo huts, and they do have a certain charm. It’s right in the jungle, with humidity everywhere, and the room is only as clean as nature allows. The hut seems perfectly positioned to catch the beach noise, and there were lots of mosquitoes.

A simple, efficient stay with a very welcoming family. The location was great, about a five-minute walk from the town center, but still quiet. An unexpected little bonus was getting access to the infinity pool below, with a magnificent view and a bar that also serves food.

There was a hole in our bungalow floor, the WiFi barely worked, and the mosquito net had so many holes I couldn’t count them. The staff were kind, and I feel sorry for them, but we stayed one night and then left in a hurry.
