PP Princess Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

The rooms were clean and the location was great, and the pool itself is beautiful. But unless you claim seats before 8-9 am, you probably won’t get to enjoy it. We also had no hot water for showering, and the room loses power when you leave, so you can’t charge your phone while you’re out. For what it costs, I think there are better hotels around the island.

The pool and the loungers in the water were the best parts, and I thought it was lovely that they brought our suitcases from the pier. It’s a good hotel in a great central spot, near bars and restaurants. Sadly, we didn’t sleep well because we hadn’t realized when booking that a very loud bar nearby plays music until 2am.

The pool area was nice, breakfast buffet was good, and the staff were good too. The hotel itself was nice, but the cleaning and maintenance team needs retraining. Even after the room had supposedly been cleaned, it was filthy, with dust that hadn’t been dealt with for a while and a dirty balcony. At £600, I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. It’s also near nightlife, so the location isn’t quiet.

The seaside location is the hotel’s one real advantage. We found the place poorly maintained and overpriced for the service and facilities, and it didn’t feel like what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel at this price. Metal fixtures around the property were visibly rusty, and the bathroom was old and neglected. The shower was awkward too, with just a small fixed overhead head spraying in one direction. Housekeeping was badly handled. Our room still hadn’t been cleaned by mid-afternoon, then later a cleaner let themselves in with a key while we were asleep, even though we’d told them not to come in. That was a serious invasion of privacy. There was also no communication about the New Year’s Eve event. We had to look into it ourselves that evening, and a Facebook message to reception about it went unanswered. Breakfast was very basic and forgettable. The quality doesn’t justify either the price or the 4-star rating.
