Voyagers Hostel

It’s on a quiet street, about a 10-minute walk from the pier and a short walk from restaurants. The dorm was quiet by 10 p.m., which suited me, and people chatted outside in the morning. There isn’t much of a hangout area beyond the space out front. The place is clean. Sheets and towels are changed daily, shoes aren’t allowed in the dorm, and the floors and two wet bathrooms are cleaned every day. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner are provided. In the left-side dorm, the left bathroom had hot water; the right one was less hot but had better pressure. The air conditioning kept the dorm very cool. The beds are on the hard side, as is common when traveling through SEA. Each bed has a small lockbox, plus there’s a larger one at the back, so bring your own locks. The blackout curtains are nice, and entry is by key card. Coffee, tea, and refillable water are free, along with bananas, toast, and some sweets. They provide bug spray and snorkel gear. Laundry is available next store for 1kg/60 baht, and they can book tours at a fair price. If you want a clean, quiet dorm close to the tourist area but not right in it, this hostel is a good fit.

It’s well priced and in a handy spot by the beach, close to the nightlife. The hostel is small, though, and its only social space is the front balcony, which nobody used. The beds were very firm and uncomfortable, but that didn’t bother me too much. I’d still recommend it, just don’t expect a social hostel.

Our flight was delayed, so we couldn’t make the first night, and we told the hostel. The manager cancelled the whole booking and resold our rooms. We had to find somewhere else at the last minute and lost our deposit for two nights. We would have gladly paid for both nights when we arrived. It felt like they saw a chance to get extra money.
