Laguna Villas Boutique Hotel

We enjoyed our four nights here, though the stay was a little different from what we expected. The shared pool was clean, large, and deep, with loungers among lots of greenery. We spotted a few hornbills. There seemed to be more families with small children than we’d anticipated. Our villa had plenty of space, including a kitchenette and sitting area, a double-sink bathroom, Thai art, and a small patio with two loungers and an umbrella. The room’s only shower is private and outdoors. We found a couple of bugs and small lizards inside, which seemed inevitable with the large glass doors and indoor-outdoor design. We also occasionally noticed a strong, unpleasant smell outside on the patio, though we encountered it elsewhere on the island too. The beach is just across the street, about a 30-second walk, and the sunrises are beautiful. There are several restaurants close by. The pier, shops, 7/11, and ATMs are 1-3 km away, so you’ll probably need a taxi or motorbike. Breakfast was included but wasn’t quite to our taste.

The service and facilities were what made this holiday so memorable for me. The staff were gentle, highly professional, and always ready to help with anything. The restaurant was incredible, with excellent local food and what I thought were the best European and local breakfasts on the island. The apartments are spacious, comfortable, luxurious, and beautiful, with everything you could want inside. Each villa is set up so you don’t see neighbors or hear extra noise. The owners clearly care about guests, providing luxurious wines, high-quality towels, and sunbeds. The pool is magnificent, around four metres deep, with a jacuzzi in a secret garden. It’s a big, picturesque pool surrounded by a beautiful garden. I traveled all around Yao Noi but didn’t find a better location. The hotel sits right by the sea, and just 20 metres away there’s a lovely beach where you can have it to yourself. The way into the sea is especially convenient and comfortable. The place isn’t crowded at all. This is a literally exquisite paradise, the best hotel on Yao Noi, and maybe in this part of Thailand. If you want to find paradise in Thailand, you must see it for yourself. I’ll never forget it. Thanks to LAGUNA VILLAS, I had the best holiday of my life.

The beds were reasonably comfortable, and the staff did try to help, but the villa itself felt poorly maintained and below standard. Breakfast was low quality and not fresh. The beach across the main road wasn't pleasant or much good for swimming, and the pool was hot and so heavily chlorinated that the children had skin reactions. With all that, the price just didn't feel worth it, and we left disappointed.

There are several villas gathered around a lovely pool, and it was a very nice place. Lots of young families were staying there, though, so anyone hoping for a quiet, romantic getaway should look elsewhere.
