Koh Yao Yai Sea Breeze House

The setting is lovely, between the jungle and the sea, and service was generally good. The staff were friendly and prices reasonable. Still, our room sometimes had a bad, sewer-like smell, and the laundry service ruined our clothes. A pretty decent place otherwise.

A beautiful villa with everything you need, in a perfect spot for a romantic getaway. The staff and owner were really friendly and helpful. There’s a great restaurant right by the beach for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I recommend it 1000%.

I had fish & chips at the restaurant, then two hours later had diarrhoea and sickness for 24 hours. The wifi was so bad I couldn’t connect the TV, and I complained twice but the staff didn’t care. The beds are rock hard and lumpy, and the walls so thin I could hear the neighbours’ conversations. Before booking, I read other reviews and thought it looked OK for the price, but the people who wrote them are either fake or have lived in a cave. Don’t book this hotel. If I could give no stars, I would.

I spent the weekend riding around the island, so not having a usual swimming beach wasn’t a problem for me. Instead, the quiet area and beautiful sea view from my room made the start of each day lovely. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, and they sorted out my mistaken booking while staying nice throughout. I also really liked the restaurant, with good, tasty food that wasn’t very expensive. I loved the place even though we stayed just one night, and I’d definitely come back for longer. I recommend it without a doubt.
