We stopped by a couple of times for sunset drinks, but didn't eat or stay. The swing chairs were fun, and the happy hour prices were great. The one downside was the staff's lack of friendliness. We said hello and thank you again and again, in Thai and English, but barely got a word back and not even a smile. It was the same on both visits, and we heard the same from others staying there. A shame, since otherwise it'd be a great spot.

The best moment was sitting in the lounge by the water at sunset and thinking about the happier side of life. Rooms sit high above a rough coastline, with excellent views. The Cambodian room attendants were friendly, though restaurant staff were lackluster. There were invasive monkeys everywhere, and a nice range of Belgian ales that were somewhat overpriced.

The restaurant is the reason this unusual guesthouse earned five stars from me. It's right over the sea, and in rainy season the waves swelled and crashed around. Sitting in the covered vestibule (?) in comfy chairs, watching the rain and all that sturm und drang, had me humming Mendelssohn and thinking early Romantic thoughts. Should I order Pad Thai or a veggie burger? Reader, I had both. There were lots of gentle, friendly cats and dogs too. I booked the Queen with patio. The accommodation was adequate, the bed hard, and the air con great. The food was pretty good, but breakfast was quite pricey, about thb250 per person if you have a normal morning appetite. Since so many places include breakfast in the deal, that may affect your choice. The restaurant felt so unique that I stayed two nights, then moved on to express my wish for somewhere else and begin my Expressionist period. Definitely worth a dart.

Koh Chang's best snorkeling spot, with loads of fish and lovely coral. The food was really good too, especially the cocktails. We loved the 4-6pm happy hour and the whiskey sour. And the staff were all super friendly and helpful! ❤️
