Catz Rasta Hostel

I came for the half-price Indian food offer, but after dinner I had a sick, painful night. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The discount only covered three dishes, and just one of those was vegetarian. We had a pretty long wait, so after seeing all the good reviews, we were expecting more. The food was nothing special, with no care or passion in the cooking, and it didn’t feel like Indian food or fresh food. We ordered an Indian dish for 120-150 bath, a Thai dish for 70bath, and naan for 50. The naan was basically a warmed-up packaged tortilla wrap, and both dishes seemed to be made with frozen ingredients rather than fresh ones. *****I got sick after dinner, so I won’t recommend this place to anyone*****

Beds were comfy, and the rooms and bathroom were really clean. This has been our favourite hostel in Thailand so far. The staff were great, especially dada, who entertained us on the guitar for hours. We’re coming back in a month and will definitely check in here again. Thanks love station hostel for a great two days.

I’m a backpacker on a really tight budget, and the hostel room cost me more than anywhere else on my Thailand trip, yet I got the worst service and room. The quality and price didn’t match. Towels even cost 20bht each, and the restaurant was too expensive for me. I asked one morning for hot water for coffee I’d brought with me, but the manager said guests couldn’t use the kitchen. I asked if she could at least fill my cup, and got the same answer. The rules also said no alcohol on the property unless you bought it at the costly bar. For a hostel on an island like this, I expected some party wibe, but there wasn’t one. The staff only helped if you bought their services. Looking for a better price meant you were on your own. They couldn’t tell me how to travel around the island cheaply without a motorbike, whether there was public transport, or where the free parties were. They were no help at all. It felt like the whole island, including this hotel, didn’t like budget tourists. There were lots of lizards, even in the rooms, and cockroaches in the toilets. I found one in my room too. If you want comfort, low prices, really friendly staff, or a party wibe, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hostel.

I stayed at Love Station Hostel for 3 weeks. The staff were really friendly and tried to help with everything. The hostel was always clean, and they had good prices for motorbike rentals, tickets to everywhere, tours, and their own taxi. There’s also a fantastic Indian restaurant and nice cocktails.
