Loyfa Natural Resort

The team were so nice, and when I had a birthday they decorated the room beautifully for me. They also came to clean in the afternoons when we asked. Our room was clean and had a lovely view over the sea. We had such a good time here. Thank you!

We ended up leaving the island urgently because we couldn't face going back to the hotel or our room. I really wouldn't recommend even considering this place. We had paid for an upgraded room, and I don't want to imagine what a standard one is like. Ours felt unpleasant and cold, the shower water barely flowed, and everything seemed old and poorly maintained. It felt more like a youth hostel. There's no restaurant, and reception is only open from 8 in the morning until 6 in the evening. There isn't even a phone to call them. The hotel sits up a fairly steep hill, but there's no shuttle or help getting up and down. They have one taxi that's extremely expensive, so it's better to arrange one from outside.

The staff were devoted and very friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The facilities are superb, and the setting feels peaceful, with a real sense of healing and renewal. There are private beaches and superb views in a spacious setting that feels full of room to grow. Highly recommend.

We were upgraded to a pool villa, with its own pool and an amazing view of the beach. The room felt clean and luxurious, and would be lovely for a romantic honeymoon. We also enjoyed the restaurant, the gorgeous private beaches, and the beanbags and chairs for lounging. My sister and I had a very pleasant few nights. A few things to know: the resort is large and hilly, so exploring on foot can leave your legs sore. It's also not close to much, and a ride into town costs about 150 baht in the back of a wagon. The buffet breakfast was a bit underwhelming for flavour. There were lots of energetic children around. That's not the hotel's fault, but worth keeping in mind when booking. Some staff had trouble understanding English and would just say “no” if they didn't follow what we meant. When we showed one man our Australian plugs, borrowing an adapter turned out to be simple, even though he'd first said he didn't have one. Our room had a sack of mothballs that smelled really unpleasant. I wish they'd used another kind of pest control.
