Malibu Beach Bungalows

A 7/11 is right at the end of the road, and you can walk along the beach to the main beach for local food and the Sunday market. Scooter hire is nearby too. Loved staying here, it’s beautiful and in a stunning spot. I’ll be back.

Getting around takes a moped, since this place is remote and there are no taxi apps. You can rent one from the lovely family who run the laundrette near the entrance. The connecting beach is lovely and has a pool guests can use, though the cafe there isn’t great. It gets busy with day visitors from 8 to 6:30, despite the location being away from the main tourist areas. The B bungalows were roomy, with air conditioning, a good bathroom, a large bed and a bug net. We had no trouble with bugs. It’s a proper bamboo hut, which we liked, but some people might find that unexpected. We did find stains on the duvet that turned out to be dog paw prints. There are lots of dogs around. They aren’t owned by the property, but are comfortable with people and may follow you or join you on the balcony. They’re sweet, though they can growl at and chase other dogs, which was a little worrying. We had a lovely time overall, with just a few things to keep in mind. The owners weren’t as personable as hosts elsewhere, but they were fine. They helped us reach the port in time for our ferry, which we really appreciated.

The staff were friendly and really helpful. The cottage was bigger than I expected from the photos, and the pool is wonderful. It’s right on Malibu Beach, so we could choose between relaxing by the pool or lounging on the beach.
