Phangan Orchid Resort

I paid 130 euro for the room on the night of the full moon, and it wasn’t worth it. The full moon party was a 20 minute taxi ride away, costing 100 baht per person. The staff were really unfriendly, rude, and ignorant. The setting and outside of the room were lovely, and the pool had a nice view. The resort itself was nice, but the interior was really dated and the shower was filthy. For such an expensive stay, I expected better.

The rooms were clean and good, with nice bedding and lovely staff. The owner was very kind, and the price felt right for the quality. The view is astonishing, with the best sunset from your own bedroom.

The view is incredible, and the sunset is great. The bungalows are nice enough, but the comfy bed was the best part. The pool and beach made the stay good overall. The main staff seemed to detest us and charged for everything, even hot water. They didn’t clean our room because apparently I’d paid too little, which felt harsh at 40€ a night, especially given the location. The fruit shakes were just made from fruit, and it wasn’t fresh.

The staff were the standout for me, polite and pleasant to deal with. The owner, a 75 year old Thai woman, makes a banana pancake that’s the tastiest I’ve had in Thailand. It’s a cozy place for a short stay or a longer one. From the sea-view bungalows you can look across the whole bay, watch the sunsets, and see Koh Samui and Ko Tao. There’s a pool, room service, and a reception desk.
