Secret Beach Bungalows

I almost don't want to rate this place, just to keep it secret a little longer 🙂 The bungalows aren't luxurious, but I had the best stay on the island here. The setting and beach are wonderful, and the restaurant and staff went out of their way to make the stay exceptional. Try the ceviche and crispy shrimps, they're delicious.

The Thai staff were very friendly, and the place has a cozy feel. Still, the food is expensive, breakfast isn't included, and the beach was hardly suitable for swimming. The water stays very low, and there are lots of rocks and tourists.

We were happy with our room and the services, and the stay felt homey and comfortable. The mattresses could use an update, but they were passable. We were told the drought might affect water pressure, though we didn't run into any problems. My partner and I loved the beachfront bungalow. The view and atmosphere were lovely, and there was more privacy than expected despite the busy beach, thanks to the greenery and the area being closed off to the public. The restaurant food was amazing. I had one of the best Penang curries I've tried, and the coffee and breakfast were good and reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely and helpful, and so were the resident dogs 😆 I'd say it's best for couples and people who are happy relaxing around others. Daytime joints and drinks were part of the fun. It seemed less suited to families. I'd read complaints about noise and staff being hard to find, but the noise level was acceptable, music stopped by 9pm, and staff were around. If no one was nearby, WhatsApp was available. We came in June, so it could be worse in the busy season, which is something to factor in at peak times. We were sad to leave. I'm giving five stars because the value and good vibes are hard to pass up, even though it wasn't faultless. Thank you everyone at Secret Beach Bungalows 🙏🏼

The bungalows face the beach and sea, and the location is right by the water. Book a table for the evening if you want a beachfront spot. The rooms were very nice, the food was among the best on the island, and every staff member was friendly. The owner and her team made us feel at home. Look no further, this is the place.
