Skymoon Resort Koh Phangan

The service is what earned the five stars for me. They took me to rent a scooter and insisted I shouldn’t have to leave my passport or cash as a deposit, even though the rental place normally required it. A great scooter was ready when I arrived, at a good price, and when I returned it the hotel checked it and took it back to the rental place. Then they drove me straight to the speedboat, so there was no hassle for me. I’m going again. I stayed in July 2024 and had a great time. The room was brilliant, with a lovely little private pool and a larger shared pool with a nice view. At the time, they had a cooperation with another resort by the water, where breakfast was served, though I didn’t try it. The restaurant there wasn’t great, to be honest, and they served me chicken satay that wasn’t fully cooked. The gym at SkyMoon is small, so don’t choose it for that. The staff, though, were top notch.

The beach nearby looked like a movie scene, pristine and picturesque, and made for a relaxing escape. We stayed at the Skymoon and had an incredible time. The hotel was stunning, and our room was roomy and beautifully designed, with its own private jacuzzi. Waking up with that kind of comfort felt like a dream. It was a perfect stay.

The staff were always quick to help and very friendly, and there was a driver available to take you up and down to town when needed. For exploring the whole island, though, a motorbike is your best option. This was the best resort I’ve stayed at in southern Thailand, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place for my week there. My room had a private pool and mountain views, with the sea on both sides. It may not be the cheapest place on the island, but if you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

After backpacking for a while, I needed a bit of pampering, and this was one of the best experiences of my life. The location puts you right where the action is. Staff were kind, resourceful, and on call practically 24/7, ready to help with any request, almost like butler service. They kept my room very clean. The food was great and very cheap, and I had a great view and my own pool in the room. What more could you ask for? I’d recommend it 10/10.
