This was a huge disappointment. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our two weeks in Thailand, and I honestly can’t understand the positive reviews. They make me wonder how reliable those reviews are. The location doesn’t make up for it, not even for the Full Moon Party. The good beaches are about 40 minutes away by motorbike. On party days, people vomit and urinate in the sea, so swimming there the next day feels unthinkable. The internet kept dropping, and we were given three little notes with different usernames and passwords. Even moving around inside the room could make the connection disappear. The biggest problem was cleanliness. Our room and most common areas were dirty, the toilets by reception were disgusting, and the old bathroom in the room was the worst part. The hotel needs far more than a “renovation.” There’s no soundproofing, so you hear everything. Breakfast had very little variety, and the pool sunbed cushions were stained and dirty. The hairdryer was so weak it couldn’t even blow out a candle.

The restaurant was good, with several Western food options, and breakfast was good too. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. It’s close to the beach. I imagine it might get noisy during the Full Moon Party, but luckily we arrived after the full moon 🌕

We had to come back to “Tommy Bar” to see Wattana, the one and only! He’s such a friendly, happy bartender and goes above and beyond with customer service. The first-class cocktails he mixes are next level. POW!!!

We ate at the Tommy restaurant twice and the food was excellent. That chocolate milkshake is superb, and the staff were very attentive. One day, some people nearby were smoking marijuana even though several signs clearly said not to smoke it in that area. The staff didn’t ask them to stop. I still highly recommend the restaurant.

The tasty breakfast and how close it is to the Full Moon Party were highlights of our nice stay. It gets really loud that night because it’s so close, but we expected that. The rooms are a little outdated, and we did find two roaches. Staff took care of them promptly.
