Samed Grandview Resort

The breakfast counter staff could have been a little friendlier and made guests feel more welcome. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay and found it a great choice for a relaxing beach holiday. Our room at Samed Grand View Resort was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The reception team, porter, and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is right on the beach, with clear, beautiful water. It’s convenient too, close to a 7-11, a massage shop, and many restaurants with plenty of food choices.

The beach bar service was frustrating. Nobody came around to check on customers, and staff stood with their backs to us. You get a QR menu, but after ordering once, the ticket was closed, so I had to go ask for another. They never noticed us or came over. I asked for water for three days; each time they said they’d bring it right away, but it never arrived. The king bed was two twins pushed together with a gap down the middle, and the two small bottles of water were never replenished. My “jacuzzi suite” looked nothing like the photos. The door opens onto the toilet, and the bedroom is upstairs, which wasn’t mentioned. There’s no closet, just a coat rack. The jacuzzi tub is on a balcony facing the street, with no privacy or separation from the street, so random people walking by can wave at you. Maybe some people like that. For what you get and how they operate, they should charge a quarter of the price. A small beer is 120 here, compared with 70 elsewhere. Go somewhere else, then walk by for their free 8pm fire show.

We were a group using three or four rooms, and the service was absolutely poor. Mosquitoes kept us awake the first night, biting our faces, arms, necks, and ears. The next day we asked reception to handle the mosquitoes and clean the rooms. My girlfriend reminded the staff five minutes later, and they promised a cleaner would come within ten minutes. We went out for dinner, but when we returned, nothing had changed and nobody had come. We were furious. Every room in our group had the same problem, and none had been looked after. Management at Samed Grand View Resort should address this properly instead of just handing guests Soffel packs. They should consider how they’d feel if their own kids or family were itchy and bitten all over. If this kind of service is still neglected, I’d tell people to stay away from this hotel. It’s the worst hotel in Thailand.

The island is so beautiful, but that was the only good impression. We’ve been here for three nights and couldn’t wait to leave from the very first night. Loud music started early in the morning and went on until around midnight, shaking our windows and roof. We complained, but they didn’t seem to care. The staff weren’t friendly at all. Maybe it’s because I’m not Farang. There were so many disturbances that we couldn’t sleep during our stay. Sewage began leaking and overflowing right outside our room, and the smell was disgusting. It was our first visit and will be our last. Other hotels may be better, but please don’t stay here or you could have the same experience.
