The resort handled all our travel arrangements smoothly, including taxis from the airport and rides to the ferry piers. Its location made it easy to enjoy the area, and the whole stay felt relaxing and well coordinated. The team was polite, professional, and ready to help. Nana at reception was especially helpful with everything we needed. We also booked a massage, and Cake gave us one of the best treatments we’ve had. Great staff and a great location made the trip unforgettable.

We stayed five nights in April, and this was truly the worst hotel of our Thailand trip. The photos are misleading. Staff said they were recent and that furniture could vary by room, but two shelves and a few clothes hangers is barely anything for the price. There wasn’t even a chair, which could be a problem for older guests or anyone with health issues. The room was dirty too. The headboard was filthy, with what looked like snot on it. A note in the room said the bed linen would be changed every three nights, but stains that were there when we arrived were still on the bedding five days later. Mosquitoes kept getting into the room because the sliding door wouldn’t close properly and had a big gap. We ended up patching it ourselves with a plastic bag. The shower had almost no water pressure, and there was glass or sharp glue residue on the wall that could hurt someone, especially a young child. The bathroom wiring was unfinished even though the room gets humid and wet. The hotel’s luxury-resort image on its photos and Instagram page is a joke. Staff were defensive about negative reviews, which says enough about how they treat guests. Don’t let yourself get scammed.

Save yourself the money, time, and stress if you’re reading this. This overpriced place is very old and hard to call a hotel. It looks more like a hostel, and the rooms are plain and worn compared with the pictures on booking.com. Ceilings are only about two meters high, so the rooms feel like dark caves. The beds have no frames and feel like sleeping on jelly; the double bed was just two single mattresses pushed together. Exposed electrical wires stuck out of the bathroom wall, which felt very unsafe. We were given a room with a broken air conditioner. I asked for another room, but they sent a repairman instead. He confirmed it was broken and couldn’t be fixed, yet they refused to move us. It was too hot to rest after our trip or sleep at night. A repairman finally replaced the unit by the evening of the next day. Housekeeping also left bags of rubbish beside our room. They started to stink in the heat, so for half our stay we had no air conditioning, and the whole day we could smell rotting trash beneath our windows. Avoid this place and save your money and nerves.

The only thing I liked was the beachfront location. Even then, Lamai town is a 20-25 minute walk for food and drinks. Based on our stay, I’d tell people not to book here. The room was very different from the photos. The bed shown online seemed to have a proper headboard and comfortable setup, while ours had no headboard, just one pillow against a bare concrete wall. At reception, we were told that rooms aren’t all the same regardless of room type, which made the pictures feel inaccurate. The bathroom was poorly laid out: the shower isn’t separate, so it floods the whole room and soaks the toilet. There was a constant urine smell from the toilet from check-in onward. The mattress itself was fine, but we could barely sleep. The walls have no soundproofing, so you hear everything your neighbours say and do. Groups drank and partied outside at night, and staff did nothing about the noise. Mosquitoes were everywhere. I know they’re part of Thailand’s climate, but after more than a month travelling around the country, I hadn’t experienced anything like this. I was covered in bites. Staff were especially disappointing. We’re two women and asked not to be put on the ground floor because we didn’t feel safe. Our booking only said “standard double room” and didn’t mention a floor, but staff said we had “booked ground floor” and offered no other room. When we tried to explain how upset we were by the room, reception laughed in my face. Staff then claimed they suddenly didn’t speak English and passed us to a manager on the phone. The manager showed no sympathy and seemed more interested in arguing than helping. Housekeeping was inconsistent as well. We left at 8:45am on our second day and got back close to 4pm, expecting the room to have been serviced. It hadn’t been cleaned, and there were no fresh towels or replacement toilet rolls. The pool was much smaller than it looked in the pictures.

My fiancée and I spent four nights here and had an amazing time. The hotel beach is honestly one of the best we’ve seen on the island, and everything was as expected.
