The location in Lamai was the one good thing. The photos on the booking sites are misleading, as the rooms look very different in person and are quite old. Our room wasn't clean, the furniture was worn and broken, and the mattress felt like concrete. We could clearly hear people talking in other rooms through the ventilation openings in the stone walls. A very bad experience.

I only needed a cheap, basic place for a couple of weeks, and this did the job. My room had no air conditioning, just a desk, and a TV that didn't work. It was initially a little difficult to get in touch with the property to arrange moving in. There wasn't much staff around, though I actually quite liked that.

I booked a big room, but they gave me a small, dark one with a cockroach in the bathroom. The owner didn't seem to care when things went wrong, and refused any refund or discount for the two nights. Not a nice experience.

The rooms are small and simple, with the feel of the places I stayed on backpacking trips years ago. I loved it there. I couldn't believe Samui still had somewhere this cheap.
