If you’re looking to properly unwind, this is hard to beat. The jungle is quiet, the pool is huge, and the spot between two mountains has its own little microclimate. Lamai beach is about 10 minutes away by bike or car.

There are seven villas, and ours had plenty of room for both staying and working. The staff were nice, and the place also has a barbecue area, billiards, a pool, and a mini bar.

Evenings on the terrace are lovely, with the jungle sounds all around. The grounds also have a large pool, billiards, table tennis, and exercise equipment. Each of the seven villas is roomy, with two bedrooms and a living room and kitchen, plus what you need for a comfortable stay. It’s a cozy, quiet place, though you’ll need your own transport since there’s nothing else nearby, not even a grocery store.
