This has become my favorite place on Samui. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, the villas are spacious, and everything is clean and well maintained. I feel great here, the energy is lovely. During one low season visit, they upgraded me from the deluxe villa I'd booked to a pool villa, which was a lovely surprise. The hotel's beach isn't good for swimming, but Chaweng is about a five-minute drive away, and Coral Cove takes 15-20 minutes. It's a perfect spot for a week and a proper reset.

After what happened, I no longer felt my things or my safety were secure here. Cash went missing from my bag while I was staying in one of the rooms. I moved to another room the next morning, and when I checked my bag as soon as I entered, the money was already gone. I know it was there the night before. I asked about security cameras and was first told there were none. When I pointed out a camera that was clearly visible, I was told it didn't work. Getting two different answers about something as basic as security only made me more worried. When I talked to the manager, he tried to persuade me that I'd lost the money the night before. I remember having it clearly. I don't drink, hadn't been around anyone else, and had been by myself on my bike the night before. His responses felt dismissive and manipulative, rather than helpful. I can't say who was responsible. But after searching online, I found six other public reviews describing similar cases of money going missing at this property, which made the situation feel more serious. I showed the manager the reviews, and he told me it was “Thai punishable law.” That felt more like an attempt to intimidate me than deal with the issue. I didn't feel comfortable using the room safe. It had a physical key instead of a personal code, which means staff can access it at any time. I also found several other reviews where guests said items had gone missing after using the safes. To me, that's another sign the security setup isn't reliable. Even basic security expectations weren't met, and there was no reliable way to communicate with management afterward. I strongly advise future guests to take this seriously and consider somewhere else. I left feeling unsafe, unsupported, and completely disappointed.

The villa has potential, but the host's behavior, the failure to respond properly to a safety problem, and the way guest security was handled made the stay really uncomfortable. There were two hosts. One was kind and helpful, but Max was rude and dismissive. When I asked if someone could carry my suitcase downstairs to the bedroom, he said, “Are you serious?” and kept joking about what service I needed instead of helping. That felt unprofessional as guests in the villa. We also asked if the kitchen had basics like salt and pepper, and were simply told to go to 7-Eleven. The more serious issue came after we changed rooms the next day. Around 40-50 honey bees kept coming into the room all night. We couldn't sleep, and I stayed in the bathroom because it felt safer. I was stung on my leg, and my partner was stung on the back of his head. When we asked for help, we were told room service was only available from 3 pm. The next day, housekeeping were very nice and tried to fix things, making sure the doors were closed properly, but the bees came back the following night. If there's a gap letting bees in, that room shouldn't be given to guests until it's fixed. There was also a security concern. We gave our room key to the host at 3 pm for housekeeping, but after they finished, the key was left hanging on the gate outside. That's not safe. If guests hand the key over responsibly, the host should also protect their belongings. What if something had gone missing?

The location is the one good thing here, close to the airport and main town, with scooter rental next door. The photos are completely inaccurate. The place is dirty, and gaps around the doors don't keep out insects or lizards. When we arrived, reception staff didn't seem to care and gave us no pleasant welcome. For the price, it was disappointing. You could find a much better resort in a very similar area. On the last day we saw a snake on our doorstep. Wildlife in Thailand wouldn't usually worry me, but with those gaps in the door, it was more concerning.

I was wary after reading the reviews, but we only needed a place near the airport for one night, so I decided to see for myself. The view and pool were okay, and we got a free upgrade. Those are the two reasons I'd give it two stars instead of one. The place clearly hasn't been maintained for years. I'd seen that in the reviews but ignored it, and regretted it. The rooms need work, and so do the walkways and path to the beach. Everything was in terrible shape. The worst part is that the rooms aren't fully enclosed. They're glass sliding-door rooms inside a fairly open indoor-outdoor style space. There were disgusting numbers of mosquitoes. At night we covered ourselves completely with the blanket, but they still got in. Staff were generally helpful, but ownership needs to put serious work into repairing the place.
